Infomaniak kSuite is the Swiss suite alternative to Microsoft 365 – chosen by everyone who deliberately keeps their data in Switzerland. Still, hardly anyone runs a single stack: an Outlook calendar (Microsoft 365, Outlook.com or Exchange Online) runs alongside it for a mandate, a client or your own company. Without a sync, both scheduling worlds are blind to each other – a kSuite appointment is invisible in Outlook, and someone books a meeting right over it.
Kalender Sync connects kSuite over Infomaniak's official CalDAV endpoint with Outlook over the Microsoft Graph API (OAuth) and keeps both in sync. Per connection you choose the direction and how much is visible – consistently privacy-first and without installing anything in Outlook. kSuite data stays in Switzerland, our connection logs in Germany. People who run Infomaniak kSuite make privacy a deliberate choice – Swiss SMEs, freelancers and agencies away from Microsoft 365. The Microsoft world is still hard to avoid entirely, though: a client works with a shared Microsoft 365 calendar, a side mandate lives in a company tenant, or you keep a private Outlook.com account. Without a sync you plan against a calendar the other side never sees – double bookings are guaranteed. You choose the direction
Set, per connection, whether it mirrors one way only (e.g. Infomaniak kSuite → Outlook) or both calendars keep each other up to date (two-way sync). With two-way, a new event in Infomaniak kSuite automatically lands in Outlook – and vice versa.

Per sync you pick one of three visibility levels: busy only, title + time, or full event details. Free/Busy is just the data-minimal default, not the ceiling – ideal when your Infomaniak kSuite and Outlook calendars carry different levels of confidentiality. You can even give blocked slots a custom name.

How Infomaniak kSuite and Outlook connect
Outlook connects via OAuth 2.0 over the Microsoft Graph API – "Outlook" covers Microsoft 365, Outlook.com and Exchange Online, with no add-in or COM wrapper. Strict tenants need a one-time tenant-admin consent (see /en/it-admin/). Infomaniak kSuite runs – like Apple – over CalDAV with an app-specific password you generate yourself in kSuite; we never see your actual kSuite password, and the app password is stored encrypted (ChaCha20-Poly1305). Important for compliance: kSuite calendar data stays in Infomaniak's Swiss data centre, our own connection logs at Hetzner in Germany (Falkenstein) – no US cloud provider is involved. Outlook reports changes via push webhook within seconds; the kSuite CalDAV side is synced every 5 minutes. On-premises Exchange without Microsoft 365 can only be added read-only via iCal feed.
Native tools vs. Kalender Sync
Connecting kSuite and Outlook – there is no native way
Infomaniak exposes calendars over CalDAV only and offers no native direct sync to Outlook – and Microsoft 365 speaks no CalDAV for third-party accounts. At most you can add an Infomaniak calendar to Outlook as a read-only internet-calendar (ICS) subscription: it refreshes only with a marked delay, applies deletions unreliably and runs in one direction only. Kalender Sync closes the gap – it connects the kSuite CalDAV side with Outlook over the Microsoft Graph API into a true two-way sync where changes land on both sides and you decide per connection how much is visible.

Common pitfalls — and the fix
The kSuite app password is not accepted – what now?
Check that you really entered the app password generated in kSuite's security settings, not your normal Infomaniak account password – the latter is deliberately rejected for CalDAV access. Paste the app password fresh and without spaces. If you revoked it in the Infomaniak Manager, simply create a new one and enter it again.
The CalDAV connection to kSuite fails.
When no connection is established it is usually the login identifier: some Infomaniak setups expect the sync username (e.g. abc12345) instead of the email address – you find both in the Infomaniak Manager. Kalender Sync only ever uses Infomaniak's official CalDAV endpoint. If it is the Outlook side that hangs, a strict tenant is usually missing the one-time admin consent.
Events appear twice in Outlook.
Duplicates almost always show up when the same kSuite calendar is also still added to Outlook manually as an ICS subscription, or when source and target calendars got swapped. Let Kalender Sync write into a dedicated target calendar and remove any parallel legacy subscriptions – then every event stays exactly once.
"Create new calendar" fails on kSuite.
Calendars created externally over CalDAV are not reliably kept by Infomaniak – creation is confirmed, but the calendar does not exist afterwards. So create the target calendar directly in Infomaniak Calendar, reopen the sync wizard in Kalender Sync and pick "choose existing calendar".

Does my kSuite data stay in Switzerland?
Yes. Your kSuite calendar data remains in Infomaniak's Swiss data centre. Kalender Sync itself hosts in Germany (Hetzner) – no US provider is involved.
Do I need an Outlook add-in or admin rights to connect kSuite?
No. Kalender Sync runs server-side over the Microsoft Graph API and CalDAV – you install nothing in Outlook. Only tenants with a strict policy need a one-time admin consent; for the standard case your own rights are enough.
Does it work with Microsoft 365, Outlook.com and Exchange Online?
Yes, all three run over the same Microsoft Graph endpoint. Only on-premises Exchange without Microsoft 365 can be added read-only via iCal feed.
Why do I need an app-specific password for kSuite?
kSuite offers no OAuth interface for external calendar tools, but CalDAV. The secure path is an app-specific password you create in kSuite's security settings and can revoke at any time.
Does it sync both ways?
Yes. You can sync kSuite and Outlook two-way or deliberately pick a single direction – configurable per connection.
Are my event details transferred?
Only as much as you allow. By default only "busy" is transferred; per sync you can step up to "title + time" or full details.
Can I revoke access at any time?
Yes. Remove the sync in Kalender Sync or delete the app password in the Infomaniak Manager – kSuite access ends immediately. You revoke Outlook access the same way in your Microsoft account under connected apps.
What does kSuite-Outlook syncing cost?
