Tool comparison
Kalender Sync vs. 2sync – Notion sync or calendar sync?
2sync is a Notion automation tool: it keeps Notion databases in sync with Google Calendar, Outlook, Todoist and other apps. Kalender Sync does something different – it syncs calendars directly with each other, no Notion in between. Here's the honest comparison.
Background
What is 2sync?
2sync (formerly "Notion Automations") describes itself as a Notion automation tool that eliminates manual data entry between Notion and your other tools. Every sync runs between a Notion database and another app: Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, Todoist, Google Tasks, Microsoft To Do, Google Sheets, Google Contacts, Outlook Contacts, plus Gmail and Outlook Mail (email one-way into Notion only). The Solo, Premium and Pro plans cost $7, $14 and $49 per month billed yearly and differ mainly in number of automations, sync interval (5, 3 or 2 minutes) and sync window. Every plan starts with a 14-day trial; there is no permanent free plan. 2sync is run by the French company TONOID SASU, hosted on Hetzner in the EU according to its privacy policy, and publishes a GDPR Art. 28 DPA.
Where 2sync is strong
- Notion as your hub
- If you plan tasks, projects and events in Notion databases, 2sync gives you two-way sync with Google Calendar and Outlook – changes in the calendar land in Notion and vice versa.
- More than calendars
- 2sync also connects Notion with Todoist, Google Tasks, Microsoft To Do, Google Sheets, contacts and email. All integrations are included in every plan.
- EU hosting and a published DPA
- 2sync is run by a French company, says it hosts on Hetzner in the EU and provides a GDPR Art. 28 DPA. For a Notion tool, that's solid.
Where Kalender Sync wins
Tap a point to see the reasoning.
-
Sync calendars directly with each other
With 2sync, a Notion database is always involved – according to 2sync, even the Apple Calendar route goes through Notion. If you simply want to keep your work and personal calendars aligned, Kalender Sync needs no Notion: calendar A writes straight into calendar B.
-
Live sharing into other people's calendars
Kalender Sync writes your availability directly into another person's calendar – your assistant, your team or your client. It stays up to date there automatically. That's a core feature of Kalender Sync, and not what 2sync is built for.
-
Three visibility levels – Free/Busy by default
Per sync you choose: busy only, title + time, or full details. The default is "busy only" – event details only leave your calendar if you explicitly allow it.
-
One sharing free forever
2sync offers a 14-day trial, then starts at $7/month (yearly) or $9/month (monthly). At Kalender Sync, one sharing is free forever on the Free plan (Google and Microsoft). Basic is €5/month (€50/year) with 3 accounts, 5 syncs and all providers.
-
German providers ready to connect
Kalender Sync connects 10 provider types – Google, Microsoft Outlook/M365, Apple iCloud, GMX, WEB.DE, mailbox.org, Posteo, STRATO, Infomaniak kSuite and iCal feeds. GMX and WEB.DE come with a ready-made connection – no server address to type in.
-
German company, hosted in Germany
Kalender Sync is run by PPJ Venture Labs UG and hosted at Hetzner in Germany. A DPA is included on every plan for business use – part of our terms.
-
Calendars for AI assistants
Via the MCP connector, Claude and ChatGPT can read the calendars you share – with the same visibility control as your syncs.
When to pick which
2sync is the right choice when:
- Notion is your central planning tool and events should live in Notion databases.
- You also want to connect Todoist, Google Tasks, Microsoft To Do or Google Sheets with Notion.
